Special Education Mediation
The Michigan Special Education Mediation Program (MSEMP) helps parents, educators, and service providers develop productive relationships for resolving issues in early intervention and special education. Families of students who need special education services may find that mediation is a good way to approach the schools to obtain the services they need.
These services are provided by selected mediation centers in each Michigan county. Mediators in these locations have received specialized training in special education mediation. The Dispute Resolution Center of West Michigan handles special education mediation in the following counties: Isabella, Kent, Lake, Mecosta, Montcalm, Newaygo and Osceola.
We invite you to visit the MSEMP website to learn more about the services offered. Or you may contact us to learn more about mediation for special education.
