Learn to Work Together as Parents

Fighting tears your kids apart.  When they hear parents fighting, they think things like:

  • Is it my fault?
  • What did I do wrong?
  • Why are they so angry?

Regardless of your marital status, you will always be your child's parents.  If you can learn to work together, instead of fighting against each other, you will achieve a healthier environment for your child and less stress for yourself.

The Dispute Resolution Center, in conjunction with the Child & Family Resource Council, offers several programs and resources to help you.

  • Encouraging Family Foundations (EFF): this free three-week course for unmarried, pregnant or single parents is designed to enhance the lives of you and your family.  Class topics including Balancing Work and Family, Communication Skills, Parenting Skills, Conflict Resolution and much more.
  • Parenting mediation:  this can be especially helpful to parents (married or unmarried) who need to reach agreement on parenting time, child support strategies, disciplining your child, and much more.  The service is offered any time, through a scheduled appointment.
