Help with Adverse Determination Letters
The Dispute Resolution Center of West Michigan is one of two locations in Michigan that provides free mediation services to farmers who are in dispute with the USDA or private agricultural creditors. This service is provided through funding from the Michigan Agricultural Mediation Program (MAMP). Please click here for our brochure.
The MAMP is designed to help farmers and producers who have received an adverse determination letter related to loans, wetlands, conservation programs, crop insurance and more. The MAMP provides a highly trained mediator who specializes in agricultural mediation. During mediation, the mediator leads both parties through a process of discussion so that they can find effective solutions.
Mediation is entirely confidential. It is also much faster and more cost-effective for a farmer than other forms of appeal.
If you have received an adverse determination letter, please call us at 616-774-0121 for a free and confidential conversation. Or you are invited to contact us by email. We can help you resolve the situation quickly, at no charge to you.
